Indian Gray Mongoose

Like all mongoose species, the Indian Gray Mongoose (Herpestes edwardsii) is known for killing poisonous snakes. Most notable of these snakes is the deadly Cobra. The Indian Gray Mongoose is an extremely agile and ruthless predator, and their tough, thick coat allows them to take on the poisonous snakes. These mongooses are also known as the Common Gray Mongoose.

The Indian Gray Mongoose is native to the southern parts of India. They tend to stay around scrub or sparse forest and often travel with a small family. These mongoose can grow to about 2 feet and are often seen in urban areas.
