Below is our list of prehistoric mammals, sorted alphabetically. Prehistoric mammals lived before humans developed the skills to write, or, before we were able to record history. All of the large mammals of this time are extinct, but many do have smaller descendants. While prehistoric mammals may also be included in the Extinct Mammals list, we will be classifying them differently.
