Owston’s Palm Civet
Owston’s Palm Civet (Chrotagale owstoni) is a species of civet that lives in parts of Liao, Vietnam and China. They tend to stay near lowland river basins and forests.
This particular species is a medium sized civet, growing to lengths of 23 inches plus a tail that grows to 17 inches. The Owston’s Palm Civet resembles an insectivore with its finely pointed face.
They have a gray colored body with four black bands on their backs. The bottom 2/3 of their tails are completely black. They also have black spots on their legs.
The Owston’s Palm Civet mainly eats invertebrates, mostly earthworms. Their mating seasons are in January.
