Western Spotted Skunk

Found in the USA, Mexico and Canada, the Western Spotted Skunk (Spilogale gracilis) was scientifically separated from the Eastern Spotted Skunk due to differences in their reproductive cycles.

The Western Spotted Skunk grows to lengths of 55 cm and is normally found around farms, in mixed woods, and other semi-open areas.

These skunks are actually smaller than the more common striped skunk. Like all skunks, the Western Spotted Skunk sprays their predators when scared.
